Will He carry you even if you let Him down?

Hello Friend,

It’s Mickey.

I’ve been having a hard day.

Past sins are digging at my door, and I am begging Christ to continue holding the door shut. 

Have you ever felt like you let the Creator of the universe down? Have you ever wondered if He would still carry you through the pain? Do you sometimes start rejecting His help because you’re afraid it will hurt Him more when you trip and fall? 

You’re not alone.

I have felt that very same way many times in my life. 

Would you be willing to hear one thing that helped me? 

You were never holding Him up, so how can you possibly let Him down?

The Bible says that Christ gives us His yoke. That means we must be willing to surrender our own yoke and accept His. 

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” 
-Matthew 11:29- 

Christ is gentle.

When we fall, which we all do, He doesn’t start dragging us across the ground. He stops, comes to our level, lifts us back up, and sometimes carries us. 

Child of Christ, He is a gentleman. He will not force Himself upon you. 

You can reject Him, but know this: no matter what you do, your sins are paid for. Your debt has been forgiven. You can no longer make God stop loving you. You can no longer earn His love, and you can no longer lose it. 

You cannot let Him down because He already knew every failure, every mistake, and every sin before He chose the cross. 

He will always carry you.

Do not reject His help in hopes of protecting Him from your brokenness. Do not reject the help of the people He has placed in your life for a time such as this. 

Surrender your fear, your shame, and your pain. Take the peace He freely offers. 

I know it’s hard to see today.

I know it’s hard to accept.

And there will be many days when it feels impossible.

So don’t let today be the day you give up.

You are still wanted.

You are enough.

You are Christ’s chosen child.

Not one sheep has He lost, nor will He ever lose one.

I have felt that death would be better. I have regretted the day I was born. Yet even in those moments, Christ remained faithful. 

If God did not want you here, He would not have placed breath in your lungs today. 

If He wished to bring you home, He would do so in His perfect timing. 

But until that day comes, you were not created to give up. 

You were not born merely to die. 

You were born to live a new life in Him. 

So, choose life today.

Take one more step.

Then another.

And see what Christ can do in you and through you. 

Let’s read Psalm 23 together. 

The Lord Is My Shepherd 

A Psalm of David. 

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 

He makes me lie down in green pastures. 

He leads me beside still waters. 

He restores my soul. 

He leads me in paths of righteousness 

for his name’s sake. 

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, 

I will fear no evil, 

for you are with me; 

your rod and your staff, 

they comfort me. 

You prepare a table before me 

in the presence of my enemies; 

you anoint my head with oil; 

my cup overflows. 

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me 

all the days of my life, 

and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord 

forever. 

The valley may be where you are, but you are not alone.  

“If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!”  
-Psalm 139:8-
