Future You

Right now, your “future you” needs you to keep showing up. To help you see how far your journey takes you, take a moment, write what you want to be, see, achieve in six months. Send it to yourself with a future delivery date to mark the moments you showed up – for you! Here’s a template I wrote myself a long time ago. It still makes me proud!

Dear Future Me,
I don’t know how you’re feeling in this moment that you read this, but I know you’ve made it through the hardest times of your life. Remember right this second that fear didn’t hold you back. Today, 6-months ago, you thought the devil would win and you were wondering why your life felt like a culmination of abuse and trials. It felt like no one was willing to stand up for you or with you against true evils.

When you read this, remember that someone did. Actually, many people did, the court, friends, GOD, YOUR KIDS. You were never alone and you inspired so many people just by vulnerably walking the road in humility, inviting people in to see you as you were.

That’s so brave and I’m so very proud of you. Knowing who you are on the day you read this is what’s inspiring me today to live for then. Thank you for staying committed and true to who God made you to be. He made you, which means he will carry you, no matter what comes next.
